Yesterday's fifth anniversary of Musica Copa was a truly spectacular day of MUSIC. SPORT. CHARITY with 21 like-minded music industry teams hitting the football pitch for a day of friendship, fun and fundraising, plus some star turnouts from celebrity players including a few female W-League players!
Universal Music ran out eventual 2017 Champions, beating Spotify to claim a prize of $7000 for their nominated charity Musicians Making A Difference. Huge congratulations to the Univeral team - who finished runners up in 2016. Star player and breaking artist Alex the Astronaut was awarded the Player of the Tournament trophy to cap off a great day for the team!
Championship runners up Spotify scooped their own cheque for $3000 for their charity, Support Act, whilst over in the new look Division 2, BMG won all 6 games to finish top of the table. In doing so they were awarded $2000 and a cheque for their nominated charity - also Support Act.
Including yesterday's prize money, Musica Copa has now proudly raised $52,000 for charity since 2013.
