MUSICA COPA
Australia’s charity football tournament for the music industry.
Since launching in 2013, Musica Copa has brought together the who’s-who of Australian music for one unforgettable day each year — to compete, connect and raise money for causes that matter.
Music companies and artists form teams and take to the pitch on behalf of their chosen charities, competing across multiple divisions in a fast-paced, mixed-gender format. Prize money and fundraising are distributed to causes that matter to the players, creating a high-energy experience that blends competition, community and real-world impact.
What began as a small knockout competition between friends has grown into one of the most anticipated networking and fundraising events on the music calendar — uniting artists, managers, labels, promoters, brands and media through the universal language of football.

STORY & IMPACT
Musica Copa was created by football fanatics Paul Stix (founder and CEO of UNDR Ctrl) and Martin Novosel (founder of Purple Sneakers) as a not-for-profit initiative to bring the music industry together around sport, charity and connection.
From its grassroots beginnings in a local park, Musica Copa has grown into a large-scale annual event hosted at world-class sporting facilities, in partnership with leading football organisations and major brands.
Over the years, Musica Copa has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity, supporting causes across mental health, humanitarian aid, health services and the arts — turning a day of football into lasting impact far beyond the pitch.
Musica Copa brings together every corner of the Australian music industry — from major and independent labels to management companies, promoters, media, brands and artists.
Hundreds of players take part each year, with a long list of artists and industry figures having laced up their boots, including Bag Raiders, Cosmo’s Midnight, DMA’s, Flight Facilities, G Flip, Gang of Youths, Montaigne, Nina Las Vegas, RUEL, Set Mo, What So Not, Winston Surfshirt, Young Franco and many more.
From chart-toppers to underground heroes, Musica Copa celebrates the full spectrum of the music community — creating a rare space where competition turns into collaboration.
THE COMMUNITY
Musica Copa has partnered with some of the world’s most respected brands.
Nike has been Musica Copa’s apparel partner since day one, producing bespoke team kits for every edition. Ultra Football, Australia’s leading football retailer, joined as kit partner to help bring those designs to life through national retail and social campaigns.
The tournament has also been featured nationally through Optus Sport, home of the Premier League, La Liga and the FIFA World Cup in Australia — helping turn Musica Copa into a recognised cultural moment for both football and music fans.
